October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer this year – and it was detected because of the new 3-D Technology.
Please watch this video – and make sure that your
mammogram is 3-D, not 2-D.

One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
The new 3D breast imaging machine is predicted to be up to 65 percent more accurate at detecting more invasive breast cancers, doctors said.
Three new machines are at the Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center at Palomar Medical Center in Poway.
Here is a list of local imaging facilities that do 3D Mammograms:
- Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center
- Imaging Healthcare Specialists
- Scripps Polster Breast care Center
- Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion
Annual mammograms should begin when a woman turns 40. This recommendation is supported by respected medical societies including the American Cancer Society, American College of Radiology, American Society of Breast Surgeons and others.
